I'd also like to ask what the difference between an M4 and an AR15. Is an M4 an AR15 with burst/auto fire selections?
M4 is the select fire variat made by Colt. I think the designation A2 is a carry handle upper, A3 the flattop upper. Lots of companies use these designations to identify the configuration of there AR15's. (AR-15's being semi auto. )
Also the M4 and variants have a heavy, tapered barrel, for the military to attach a grenade launcher.

Thanks Rocky, I thought so. My BIL is a Maricopa County Deputy Sheriff and he calls his semi-auto AR15 an M4. I told him that it was an M4gery and he got a bit defensive...
an M4 needs the 14.5" stepped bbl too.
And a collapsible stock too, right?
yep, with the angled butt and finned support around the buffer tube area of the stock.
