And yet another reason why I hate most media.

I am not sure what is more infuriating, my belief in the importance of the 1st amendment which allows them to spew that garbage, or their failure to understand that the 2nd ammendment helps guarantee their 1st ammendment right.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

I personally liked the part where they say the "police say that if the gun man got rattled or the police arrived before he left, who knows what might have happened?"

Are they implying its better that cops don't arrive during an armed robbery?!?

Well, if this reporting = the community and the community = their cops then yes.

Okay. For just a minute here, let's forget about the overall message. It was deplorable, yes (ooh a scope! - He was at point blank range!). Anyways, listen to the language used. I know it's local news, but jeez. That could have been better written by a sixth grader. Careful. Those bullets are sharp and pointy! And how many times did they use the word "big"? Don't they own a thesaurus?

Eh...sorry for the rant. I was stunned not only by the ignorant message, as well as by the poor use of language. Eh. I should look on the bright side: if all the anti's sounded like ignorant children, we wouldn't be having so many problems. Maybe. I don't know.

Pay no attention to the rambling geek. Move along.

    Email sent

Sent an email to Channel 9, my local news. For all the good it will do. Even invited them to come shoot at the gunshop in the hopes they'll learn something.

And as for a_kyaker....That gun looks familiar. Too familiar. Where were you on Saturday night? Maybe a 7-11? Let me see your ammo.

Oh good lord. I know I should probably be outraged, but I can't help but find this just really funny.

"It even had a SCOPE on it!"

I guess a scope makes it extra-deadly for holding up convenience stores. And did I mention that it is a BIG gun?

Big, spooky gun with pointy tip bullets. Much more dangerous and explosive than the safe bullets that have flat ends with holes in them! Somebody might impale themselves on a pointy bullet!

I chalk it up to fear and ignorance. I don't think it was necessarily malevolent or combative reporting, these are just sheep that caught a glimpse of the wolf's teeth and are scared witless. The sheepdog would do well to keep his teeth out of sight of the sheep for the time being!
