    DPMS AP4 .308 -- Pics

Finally got around to taking some pics of the AP4 in its full configuration -- optional quad-rail forestock, vertical foregrip, Harris field bipod and Nikon 4 x 12 variable scope.

I've been very pleased with this setup. The scope is very bright, which helps me a lot. The Harris bipod works great, on a swivel to compensate for uneven ground. Accuracy is outstanding and it's very comfortable to shoot.

I've had good results w/ Black Hills ammo, especially the 165gr Nosler ballistic tip. A few 20 round mags of that variety gives me a very secure feeling.

I'd certainly recommend this weapon for someone considering a semi-auto in .308 Winchester.

All folded up, ready to transport.

    Rod,

That is an extremely nice rifle!! Well executed!! I have to ask you...is there much muzzle flip or jump? I'm assuming it's a 16 inch barrel.

    Again....very nice rifle!

You're right, Wayne, that's the 16" barrel. Not much muzzle flip at all. In fact, recoil is not much to speak of. It's very comfortable to shoot. That's a good thing, too, because when I go to the range, I tend to go through quite a few rounds (kid-in-the-candy-store syndrome!).

aimhigh, I've currently got about $1500 in it, all told, I might make a few more changes/additions, as opportunity permits. I'd really like to get a Trijicon ACOG scope, if I ever run across an especially good deal. I've also seen some interesting setups incorporating a compact holographic sight mounted in conjunction with the scope. Would make for a handy transition from short-range to long-range.

Rod, very nice setup. I keep telling myself I need to configure one of these. Your rifle only pushes me more drive.
