Can you try to get me a better picture of the reciever. When I blow it up, it gets too grainy.

Also, see if you can get me a picture of the action. Drive the two pins out from right to left, and pull slightly forward and down from the reciever. That should allow you to remove the entire trigger assy. If you can get a picture of it from the top, I might be able to at least figure out the manufacturer.

Paul Wahl's Ninth Edition Gun Traders Guide has a picture of the shotgun on page 208 and it apears to be a High Standard Supermatic Made 1960 to 1966 approximately. There are several different versions of this shotgun. It appears to be the Trophy model without the vent rib and poly choke judging from the pictures alone.

I think I found some info on the gun at http://www.histandard.info/ I don't have time to take pics tonight ( Painting the nursery, must make wife happy or else!) The gun will manualy cycle and load a new shell. I found out this is a gas operated shotgun made for sears by High Standard.

I know how it goes with the painting the nursery thing. Done it twice.

I didn't want to say anything without being certain, but the High Standard idea seems correct. As I mentioned in one of the earlier posts, the model number was encompassed by High Standards, but the listings were showing pump 20's, and not the automatic.

I am going to keep looking (more for my curiousity than anything), and will let you know what I find out.

The problem is most likely the powder you are using. My 60 works fine with 800X marginaly works with Unique and is not worth anything with Promo. The basic thought I have developed is that the faster the powder the less likely a 60 will load and eject properly. Herco will also probably work just fine too. It took me a lot of trial and error before I discovered this. The gun always looked like it was OK and I could manually make it work but the it would not do what it should if the powder was too fast burning.

The problem is most likely the powder you are using. My 60 shoots great with 800X, marginaly works with Unique and fails to load and extract with Promo. I knew the gun was OK because manually it worked just fine. It took me a lot of trial and error to discover faster burning powders won't reliably cycle the gun. There are three ports in the barrel of this gun so if the powder is slow enough burning it will work just fine.
