Benelli M1S90: 6 in the tube, 1 on the lifter in a V-Line long-gun case with Simplex lock.

Due to the secure storage I'm seriously considering changing over to a loaded chamber.

Ready to rock. In a HD situation I do not want to give myself and my position away by making an unnecessary noise by racking a round into the chamber, I want it ready to go.

I keep mine chamber loaded with saftey on. IMO the sound of the racking is very intimidating, but if someone has broken in to my apartment the time for intimidation has passed and lethal force is what is needed. So thats why I opted to go cocked and locked.

When my wife and I decided to have children I will have to reevaluate my whole setup, but that will be a couple of years.

After kids showed up, decided to lock up the SG in the safe. Keep anything not on my person in a pistol safe.

Locked & Cocked with one in the pipe and the safety on.

Mossberg 835, barber pole load (buck/slug/buck/slug). Cuff shellholder also with baber pole configuration.
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

    HD shotguns

In my Mossy 500 I keep the mag loaded then all I have to do is run one into the chamber,I personally think it's safer that way as I don't trust mechanical safeties that much.

Mossy 500 with a fully loaded magazine, chamber empty. I realize the potential for giving away my position since I nwould have to rack and rock if I ever needed it, but if there's someone in my house, I'm not so worried about giving away my position. In my house, I have the advantage and I will be moving from the position where I cocked that shotgun.

    Movement is life.

Shotguns (and other long guns) typically do not have a firing pin safety and/or hammer block and are therefore not drop-safe.
