Perhaps a Stupid Question
This might be a stupid question.
I just purchased a new Bushmaster M4 last night along with a nice soft-sided carry case.
Is there any reason to keep the flimsy plastic case the M4 came in? I can't ever imagine using it again and it will just clutter up my garage or the storage space in the lower level of my home.
If it helped the future resale, I might consider keeping it. But, I suspect any buyer would much rather have the new case I purchased.

I think it will help resale... having everything it came with new always helps.

I kept mine, I keep everything that comes with my guns, I'm a pack rat, what can I say..
I's taking up space in my storage unit, but I have lent it to a few friends who needed a temp case for something.

I agree...I'd find a very out-of-the-way place and store it there.

I've found factory/OEM rifle cases are good for shipping guns, whether it's sending a rifle back for work, or selling one.

There are no stupid questions. Keep it, it might be worth $140.00 someday. Some people will buy anything on Ebay.

Even if not you'll get more for your firearm should you ever decide to sell it if it has the original box.
Empty vintage firearm boxes are a good business these days.
If you own some old vintage firearms that you bought "New In Box" & you KNOW you'll never sell them you might want to list the empty boxes on Ebay.
You can pick up some extra cash for that nice empty gun box.

Having ALL the OEM stuff that came with the gun is a plus when selling or trading. My attic is stuffed with boxes from guns I've had for years.
