updated version of the Masterkey? O.K. for opening doors, but too heavy and short for much else.

needs a little re-design work yet......

Looks a little bit klunky and thrown together right now.
Wonder if they'll streamline it a little bit if it goes into production?
Maybe a molded polymer or nylon stock to encompass the whole works & a slightly longer rifle barrel.
Then...trick it out with a light & a laser and it'll be a super nifty playtoy!

I wish I were doing the design work on that.
I would say: "OK Too Heavy? ~ Let's make a prototype in Scandium."

    Oh...der "old style" masterkey (below)

How does the magazine feed system operate? I grasp the concept that everything forward of the receiver is the pump part of the gun. So I have to guess that the shells are tube fed under the bolt since it doesn't move? I guess I'd need a picture of it open to tell huh?

Given that they built the thing in two months, they did alright. It's alive!!!!

Question Scott - Yep, Better Pictures Would Be In Order

I also see no reason why the rifle barrel could not be extended out to the same length as the shotgun barrel. The overall length of the weapon would still stay the same.

    Naaaah

Too clunky, too heavy and not very versitile. Gimme an M4 with an M203 and either flechette or buckshot loads, plus the standard HE stuff and you'll get the job done right.

    Boo Hoo

NOBODY likes this doggone MasterKey Blaster...& I really sort of like it.
OK...maybe kinda awkward & possibly not THE ideal survival weapon...but, I wouldn't boot one out of my personal collection.
    Oh well....

when breaching a door w/ the shotgun, the barrel is usually held at an angle, and very close to touching the hinges or the lock.

lengthening the barrel on the assualt rifle would prohibit this...and if the rifle is going to be used in a CWB, the added length to the barrel is not going to affect the outcome significantly.

    just my 0.02. :)

In the breaching class I attended many years ago, the barrel of the shotguns was held against the hinge/lock. The muzzle was made to allow gas escape, made in a saw toothed pattern. Benelli's breaching tube used two part tube, attached to the shotgun barrel like a choke tube extending beyond the end of the barrel, then the breaching tube screwed on to the extended choke tube.

The picture reallly does not show how this one is setup. Maybe for show only??
    Keep the shotgun handy!!

Thumbs up KC & FireFighter ~ That sure makes sense.

And that would be something that I sure would not know much about.
Thanks guys...I appreciate your input and the helpful info.
    I still want one.

I wouldn't spend money on this but - if I was asked to take one (given, like free!) for ''test'' purposes then I think (arm twisted of course) I just might aquiesce!

i'm still going w/ the guys who want the 203 though...

something about a 40mm grenade :) and boy are they some fun to shoot :)

and they do offer shotgun rounds for them... in several different varieties.

i'll try and pull up the websites at work on Monday.

Small Arms Review (IIRC) had a write up on that from a recent arms show. Overall: Mag needs redesign, not overly "field-sturdy". Slightly more versatile than MasterKey(change the mag to meet your environmental needs), but still very much a niche tool. Supposedly an order or 100,000 units, from Mall Ninja Inc., has been placed..........
