    Noveske Infidel!

I finally decided what to get and its on the way...should be here right after Christmas.

I ordered it with the Vltor VIS - basically the rail is continuous from rear sight to front sight. Standard would have been a 10" rail but I asked for mine with a 12" just because. It comes with one of Noveske's great stainless barrels - 13.7" long with permanently attached KX3 flash hider for a 16.1" total length. Oh and Noveske marked Troy sights...

Should be pretty nice. Next is a Comp M4 and a light...that'll wait until January though.

OK...but show us what you are buying!

I've been contemplating building a lightweight AR with Noveske parts for some time. Can't ever seem to afford the parts though. Good for you!!! You cannot get much better for your money. Two questions for you Austin: 1. Is it a home defense, duty, or just fun gun? 2. Did you get the fire-breathing pig?

Great company and very nice guns, wish I could afford one.

I also wish I lived somewhere where I could buy and own one of the SBR's with a suppressor...

Check out Glockinitup's link for about what it'll look like. Mine will have a 2" longer rail...so less barrel showing. I got a little discount by being a Marine, although it does cost more with the 12" rail instead of the 10".

This will be for home defense (supplementing my 12 gauge) and is also my "Homeland Defense Rifle". I don't remember where I heard that term but I like it. Also, there's the Supreme Court, the elections, socialism etc... to encourage me to own a rifle like this.

    Yes, I got the pig.

I'm looking forward to posting real pictures....but it will be a couple weeks. At first it was supposed to be here on the 28th but now UPS says January 2nd...

    Its here!

Okay I'm going to revive this thread. I went over to my FFL tonight like an excited puppy and picked up my new baby. I just became a daddy on Dec. 9th, hence the pink blanket I chose (it was already there...in the middle of the living room floor) for the background. Please enjoy what my point and shoot camera can do - this gun is sweet!

Thanks on both counts. Interesting spacing on the kids...my wife's family is sort of like that. Its like multiple generations in the same house!

    Hurray fire-breathing pig!

Beautiful rifle, good sir. I've been lusting for an AR more than ever for some reason, and have been really digging the reviews I'm getting from anything Noveske.

When you get the chance, please post a range report. I'm very curious as to how effective that little fire-breathing pig is at reducing noise/muzzle flash, since by all appearances it's a mini-suppressor.

Its supposed to direct the noise away from you - as far as the flash goes, I think it breathes fire....

Will post a range report when I get the chance to shoot it. First will be sighting in the irons - then I need to get some rail covers before I slice my hands off. I've only got 1 mag right now....lots in storage somewhere, but this one came with it. I'll get some PMags, Bobro Shorty VFG, X300, and a Comp M4 next time I've got money. Not sure when that will be...

That will be a great gun! How long do you have to wait? I got lucky with mine - when I called and asked they were just about to a run of the 13.7s.
