    AR-15 price

I am not trying to sound cheap or look for cheap weapons, but I have been thinking about an AR-15 or M4 and was wondering what the least expensive manufacturer would be. I do not want junk but I guess what I am looking for is a quality at a reasonable price. There is a gun show coming next week and I want to know what to look for there or on the net.

    Thanks in advance

The Smith and Wesson M&P 15 is reasonably priced and of reasonable quality. Depending on the variant you should expect to pay $950-1350.

You can save appox. 15% if you buy an assembled lower and upper seperately. I don't mean a build it yourself stripped lower, I mean a ready to go lower and a upper. If you feel adventurous, you can buy a stripped lower and a parts kit even cheaper. There is tons of info on the 'net to show you how to do it too.

CMMG Inc's bargain bin. Complete rifles for under $650. All cosmetic scratches. A guy I know bought one and it had a half inch by 1/10th inch shallow scratch on the barrel and that was it. Pristine everywhere else.

This is a CMMG upper on a Bushy lower that I built myself. Top quality.

I would think you could come away with a nice new Bushmaster for less than $900 depending on model and frills.

The price of the AR is relatively cheap when compared to the ammo... Right now the only and cheapest stuff I can find is $330/1000 rounds. It sure doesn't talke long to go through it.

I picked up my first lower a couple of weeks ago. I got a brand new DPMS Lite 16 for $749. For what it's worth, I've heard really great things about those bargain bin pieces http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/shop/?shop=1&cat=33&
