Do any of you guys have an AK-47. I just bought one and can't wait to shoot it. The only problem I had was it came with non matching stocks and the forestock was another pistol grip. It looked like a Tommy Gun. I orderded and had installed a set of matching Walnut stocks. It looks awesome. Those Al-Queida dudes better not let me get a bead!!!!

I don't own one, but I got to shoot a couple today that my buddy just bought. I'll probably buy one before the end of the year unless I finally give into the Kimber whispering in my ear.

Yeah....Got a Poytech Legend...milled reciever...
now the fun begins...
learn how to shoot it using the "bump" method. You put your finger in the trigger guard while holding the rifle by your side off of your hip and you gently pull the forearm against your finger while trying to hold it back. It takes a bit of practice, but once you figure it out you can almost shoot it at a full auto rate of fire.
It'll be impressive. The AK lends itself to shooting like that very well.
Shoot no more than 4 mags in rapid succesion. If you do more than this, you will set the forearm on fire.
Trust me...

I have a Romanian SAR1 - been most reliable but I have yet to properly cure the trigger slap - shorter term fix has been a small pieceof silicon tube on trigger to cushion a bit.
Added a red dot - but it ain't hyper accurate, never expected it to be. It does tho at 100 yards keep well enough inside COM to be decidely ''useful'' if need be. Usually at one place I shoot it'll hit the 160 yard steel gong religiously.
Bump fire is doable and fun but - for me once I did it a bit I realized that for accurate fire it ain't the way to go - so rapid semi is ideal. Even then way too easy to burn thru a 30 rounder - just as well I ain't got a drum mag (yet!!!).

Hehe - small secret Bud - that red dot is cheapie to the extreme - ***** made MEC - $30!!!
It does actually work fine - at least for general plinking practice - a Holosight would be way better but then we are into the bigger bucks! Only have one of those which is on BFR - doubt I can afford another.

I had a Norinco until I traded it, along with an SKS, to Nighthawk for a Springfield Champion that I turned around and sold back to him later. I sorta miss mine now that it's gone. It was accurate and fun to shoot. I put a Dragonov stock on it, since I hated the Chinese thumbhole stock, but left the sights open. If I ever get another one, it will probably be a Romanian, which I believe are the ones that make the best quality?

Somewhere Randy - and I guess for a price - you can get not stamped but milled receiver version - darned if I remember details at all. That said - I do find the Romanian well adequate and would not trade it.

Why yes I do...

Fun little guns, not match grade accuate but I do tend to favor them for close in work, I have taken 1 deer with the one with the black synthetic stock. Great gun for walking dense cover.

Yep
One early mint/unfired Galil imported by Magnum Research kinda like the Caddy of AK/47 pattern weapons.
Another one made up from orig. IMI parts on a domestic receiver that looks like total crap but, is fun to shoot.
Few others in my Dads old collection that will probably go to my little bro. since I'm really not super crazy about AKs.
