My 3 Rifles (pic)
While I waste a ton of time online drolling over tricked out ARs, beautiful M1As and the like, for now I just have 3 rifles that I would consider the everyman/budget set-up. Still, I feel pretty well armed with them. Thought I'd post-up a pic. They are: a Winchester 30-30, a Bushmaster M4-type AR-15, and a WASR-10.

Well rounded trio. I've always liked the 94.

I'd say you are pretty much covered as long guns go... Thanks for sharing

Did you paint that furniture on the WASR?

Nice! Pretty close to my thoughts on a 'trio'. My third is a bit more long distance than the lever action though.

I would also thing about adding a good quality .22 Rim Fire rifle and a bulk ammo pak or two of 22.
Yep, a nice .22 and you would have the complete package. Good selections on all three!

I have a pair of .22 that I did not include in the picture, so I agree a .22 is a must, espically for small game.
To answer the other questions: I swapped out the furniture on the WASR, so it's plastic not painted. I like the WASR so far, I have put a ton of rounds through it and it has never malfunctioned. On the other hand (as detailed in another DC thread I started) it came with canted sights and I had to send it back to CA to be fixed, which they did for free (as you would expect).
