    Ghost Ring Difference

I plan to purchase a ghost for my 870 from Midway. I'm looking at a "Scattergun Technologies" model and a "Trijicon Remington model"
(p.661 in catalog)I don't see a difference except in price? This is my first shotgun, I haven't even fired it yet and I'm not knowledgeable on the different ghost models, am I missing something or are you just paying for the name on Scattergun/Wilson. I want the tritium front, but do you really need it on the rear? The reason for the ghost is that i will be taking a 4 day tactical shotgun class, hopefully so i can learn technique with no bad habits, the course requires a minimum 300rds bird, 250rds buck, and 75rds slug out to 100 yards and the ghost is highly recommended so i will take them for their word on this..Thanks

You are paying for the name "scattergun tech" There is no real difference that I can see.

Either one will do you just fine. Get what your pocket book can handle.

IIRC, Trijicon makes the Wilson sights. I like LPI or MMCs rear ghost more, but if you're buying a package...

If your new, I highly suggest you stick with a standard bead sight.

Why? I just want to know.

Pros & cons, either way. I always found myself overshooting when swinging onto a target with a bead, with GRs I don't. Perhaps psychological/physiological specific to me...

Because its a shotgun, not a rifle.

Use the gun as its intended and its a great, fast weapon.

the only time i'd put ghost rings on a shotgun is if i were to need th ability to rapidly transition from my rifle to my shotgun. im just too used to the sights but a bead is faster.
