It is quite a ressurection but at least it's a pic thread and not a 'what gun should I get' thread. Pic threads like this should be stickied.
KAC SR15 x2
LMT MRP 12"
LWRC PSD 8"

Gun porn is always worth resurrecting! Glad he did too. I never would have seen this thread. I love looking at everyone's different builds. I'll post some pics of my m4gery when I get a chance.
Jonconsiglio, that is a nice looking piston gun. How would you rate the recoil/control on that gun's 6.8 vs a regular ole 5.56? I want one but have never been lucky enough to shoot one.

I see you're in Houston. If you ever head down to Corpus, let me know. I actually may be taking my Mother-In-Law to Houston for medical reasons. I always take my KAC SR15 with me wherever I go, but maybe I'll bring it along depending on how long I'll be there.
As far as recoil, it's not bad at all compared to comparable sized 5.56 guns. Having said that, it's NOT something I will do again. Here's a reply I posted on another forum just a few minutes ago about the PSD.
Sorry for the late reply. I bought that upper at the same time I bought another gun, but I think it came out to almost $1,800 for just the upper.
Now, I really don't care for LWRC (though I have this and the REPR), I REALLY don't care for piston guns and I also don't care for the 6.8, though I've had a couple piston guns like this and the LMT MRP. The only reason I even considered keeping this around when selling a couple others I didn't care much for was that was that it's really small and kind of interesting.
I'm working on a 10.3" or 10.5" Mk18 (block 2, mod 1, whatever you want to call the second version of the Mk18) and also finishing up my 11.5" SR15 with the Lightweight URX II special run rail. Once those two and a 14.5" Bravo Co I'm also working on are done, I'll be dumping a few others, very likely the PSD.
Had I purchased this gun in 5.56 MAYBE I'd hang on to it, but it's just not that useful for my needs. It's not as fun to shoot as 5.56 and for defensive ranges a 10.5" or 11.5" 5.56 will be just as effective, for the most part. So, it doesn't see much training and I'm not using it for home defense, it basically just sits there by itself. Actually, right now, I'm using a 16" KAC SR15 as my HD gun (along with a handgun of course) because it works no matter what.
These stupid piston guns got all this hype and for a VERY SHORT TIME, I kind of bought into it. It is a neat gun, and people like to talk about it at the range, but I've yet to have a serious shooter that I shoot with say "I need to get one of these!", like they do with my Knight's Armament guns.
It's just one of those guns that the newness wears off of REAL QUICK when you come to your senses and say, "what the heck am I going to do with this??!". I can pretty much assure everyone that I will not be buying another 6.8, another LWRC, or another piston AR. I like my SCAR's, that's the farthest I will go with a piston gun, and they really don't see all that much use.

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
Here is both of them:

I've been running AFG's now and found they really work for me, but decided since Gear Sector's mounts are so great, I'd give his vert grip a try and dedicate the next month to it to see how it takes.
Gear Sector vert grip with Gear Sector hand stop and Tango Down section.
Vert gril with XTM stippled panel.
Probably the way I'll run it, just the grip and rail covers.
My usual set up - all of my guns are currently set up similar to this
