Tikka T3 Beretta
Or the Weatherby Vanguard
:: Weatherby : Vanguard Rifles ::
Beyond that, once I decide on the model, which submodel (synthetic, stainless etc). Two gentleman on this forum have been beyond help already, looking for some other excellent feedback on these rifles!

I have a Tikka in .223 and it is great. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

I have a Tikka in 300 Win Short Mag. It is a great gun and wouldn't hestiate to buy a second one either. I am thinking of getting one in either a .270 or a .308 for a lighter round.

I have to ask. Have you looked at and held both? If so I'd think you would choose the Tikka without question.

Your mind may be set, but how's about a Howa? :)

Both are good values IMO, the Tikka is probably a little better deal.
I bought a '06 Vanguard a few years ago just because the price was right, I havent regretted that purchase yet. It shoots like a Weatherby should.

I have considered it, but have ruled it down to these two. I think I am really leaning towards the Tikka.

If your going to leave it stock, the Tikka is a fine rifle. The Vanguard/Howa is a better option for customizing.

Which is the exact reason I am still considering the Vanguard (Not the Howa side. I can change the stocks to something in Howa Line if I want.).
I hate these kinds of choices!

The Vanguard is a Howa, made for Weatherby to their specs. The action is the same. If your looking for a good action for a rebuild custom, a used Howa is a good alternative.

Which is why the Vanguard and Howa have interchangeable stocks. I am trying to decide between the Vanguard model and the Tikka model.

I bought a Vanguard because it fit me better.
It's not the bow or the arrow It's the NDN

I have a tikka in 25-06 and it has been a great deer rifle. I think it is a much better rifle for the money than the Vanguard.
