New AR joins the herd
With the real possibility that the AWB may once again rear it's ugly head, and since I had an extra AR upper, I decided to order another lower and put together a complete rifle. About that same time, I got an email from Midway with some special Internet only sales pricing. By the time I was finished, I had ordered a new upper, lower, sight, and a couple of add-ons. The great part is that with the sale prices, I end up with just barely $750.00 in the complete rifle/optics package. The bad part is, now I still have an extra AR upper.:frown:
The rifle is a DPMS upper and lower. AP4 pre-ban carbine configuration with 6 position collapsible stock. Sight is a TruGlo Xtreme Red Dot Sight, 30mm Tube, 1x with red and green 4-pattern reticle on a Leapers see-through tri-rail riser. Since I already had my DPMS varmint AR with the 24" bull barrel, I wanted something light weight and fast handling for a defensive weapon. What I ended up with is just a good, basic AR with not a lot of bells and whistles, but if it performs anywhere close to my DPMS varmint rifle, I'll be a happy camper. Now, I just have to get to the range.
