Slugs
I would like to know is there a way by looking at a slug if it is safe for non rifled barrels? I know accuracy will suffer, but I am just asking about barrel / weapon damage. Some boxes say rifled barrels only, but many don't and I wanted if they don't require it or just didn't put it on the box.

Most slugs I've shot come rifled (or already fluted)--I've used these in smooth bore shotguns. I would think the non-fluted slugs would be for the rifled barrels. Then again, I could be wrong. Never had a rifled shotgun barrel before.

All of the slug's I've ever fired were from a smoothbore barrel, didn't have any issues with them. Do you know what brands say the require rifling?

You're not going to hurt a smooth bore,(provided the barrel isnt choked tightly) but you can hurt the lands in a rifled barrel.
"Rifled" slugs are meant for smooth bores and "sabot" (pronounced SAYBOW not sabbot) are meant for rifled barrels. A smooth bore can shoot both, but accuracy will suffer.

Yes, you can lead the fool out of a rifled barrel with Foster slugs. I-have-not-seen-but-I-have-heard you can KB yourself that way.
