Although not the most advanced, tactical or even expensive, my H&R Pardner Pump is one well-built, heavy and tough shotgun.

The only fault I can nit-pick is that the finish is somewhat thin wears rather quick.

The only modifications to mine are: Replaced the sporting forearm with a Picatinny type one (I do have a weapon light and mount for it that's not in the photos), and at times I install the Choate stock. A dual-side adapter plate behind the receiver, a shell-sleeve on the butt stock, a Wilson Combat Plus 1 extension with left-side sling mount and a wide sling round out the package.

I have three............behind several doors around the house. My question to all of you (or any who care to answer) have you ever had any of your shells (in a loaded gun) begin to bulge after long term ? I have read about this but never experienced it. I am wondering how long it would take for a SG casing to "bulge". Actually I am wondering if it can bulge when supported and surrounded by the tube.

Honestly, they only shotgun shells I've ever heard bulging were the old paper hulled shells (doesn't mean it has happened, or can't happen to plastic )

    870 for HD

Remington 870 A-Tacs Tactical with a Vang Comp Big Speed Safety. I painted the groove on the speed safety bright orange so you can see when the safety is off. I know, I know...a lot of people say if you need paint on the safety you should return the gun, but its not so much for me as it is for others that use it. When I go shooting it is usually with a couple of people and I let them shoot it, so better safe. I'm thinking about adding the Mesa Tactical side saddle and some sort of flashlight on the fore end.

I'd have to second that I've never seen plastic hulled shells bulge. Just looked at a box that is over ten years old all are normal looking. Paper hulls, I dunno, don't have any.

^ I think Wheelspinner meant ones that are loaded inside the magazine tube of the gun - ones that are under spring pressure.

I haven't seen any problems with mine, but they've only seen a few month's storage in the tube......

Another pardner pump. $179 at walmart. They are 870 clones so pretty much all 870 parts fit except the barrel. Built like a tank.

Original SOE Gear Side Saddle and Single Point Bungee Sling are the only additions to my 500.

Only other thing I want to add is a better forend that does not have so much play.

My main home defense weapon. A Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun. I replaced the original stock with an ATI Tactical folding stock and added a Hellfighter X-8 flashlight.
