You know I've been thinking about getting a house gun. My only question I have is, would it be cheaper to buy a 870 or the like with the extended tube and short barrel or buy a new barrel and tube extension for my Browning BPS?

Among pump shotguns, I personally prefer the Mossberg 500/590 design, mainly for the layout of the controls. I have one of these, on which I will soon put a youth-length stock, maybe some ghost ring sights, and call it done:

I'm not really much on shotguns, myself, but recent activity in our Custom Shop has infected me with a curious lust for a Saiga 12. I don't have a photo to post tonight, but some of these things look like props from Fifth Element.

Well, things change quickly sometimes, and have certainly taken a turn toward the unexpected today. My boss, our owner, shocked me today, by awarding me this shotgun, for my work spearheading this Saiga 12 project. I never thought I'd own something like this, but here's my new shotgun -

I don't get to take it home until we're done using it as a display model, but I'm happy as a clam, or a dancing banana.

Sorry I am still in the learning phase of posting pics, but my HD shotgun is a Taurus Judge 410GA/.45 Colt. I know, it is still a handgun, but I do have the first two chambers loaded with shotshells and the rest with .45 Colt Silvertip hollowpoints. It is always next to my bed and ready to go at a moments notice.

Yes, I was a sucker for the Survival Tools spot on Personal Defense TV with Dick Metcalf demonstrating the Taurus Judge.
    God bless our troops!

Thank you, sir. Those photos (which I took in a corner of our parking lot that has been ruined by heavy trucks) really don't do the thing justice. I'm very proud of our gunsmiths and finishing shop guys, for the awesome work they're doing on these. It has already been test-fired, of course, to verify function, but the damn thing is so beautiful to behold in person, I don't think I'll be able to get myself to shoot it... much.
