    vertigo - welcome

Well I am a major Enfield fan - all but grew up with them but - not so sure I'd go for this. Mainly I think because things like Camp 45, CX4 etc as semi's are more appealing.

Somehow a bolt carbine in this cal does not light my fuze - tho would be keen to just try one out!

Am wondering if the above carbine would have any feeding problems. The OAL of the .45ACP rd is awfull short to try to feed with a bolt. Would be interested to find out how/if the bolt and/or receiver has been modified. ------- You guys that have never shouldered a Beretta Storm owe it to yourself to give it a try. I find it very easy and quick to point/get on target. I would easily consider using this in the closer range carbine matches. I have been "training" with mine in the woods using torso targets and i find that it is awful easy to put rds on target, very fast, at the closer ranges. The Storm will never replace the AR types (M4,etc.) at the longer ranges though.----------------

My friend owns a Reising .45 carbine. Not sure if ya can get 1 in semi auto only though. It is decently accurate for a open bolt gun.

RSSZ - +1 on the CX4 - mine is just the 9mm but surprisingly pointable gun IMO - may look ''Buck Rogers'' but once in hand, feels exceptional.

Just noticed the Enfield above. Was here in the first place, though, to note another interesting site of a manufacturer of conversion kit for these and Mausers. Ran across it just surfin' around:

    http://www.rhinelandarms.com/

Seems like it would be pretty easy to modify one of those old Ruger .44 Mag carbines. It'd need a little work inside of course - springs, etc., and I can't remember what sorta magazine those used. Haven't seen one in awhile.

    Best,
    Jon

I am not sure, but did'nt Ruger produce a .45 semi-auto carbine that used their pistol mags a while back. You may be able to pick one up on the used market.

Yah, I used to have one. Great heavy bush gun for deer. Kicked like a mule, though.

I'd like to know how much that enfield 45 is.

I was looking at a magazine at the barber shop this very evening, where they had a picture of that weapon.

I seem to remember it being very reasonably priced.
