I saw an ad once in a gun magazine that said everyone NEEDS a .50 caliber rifle. Not 100% sure what I would use it for (maybe you can give a few suggestions) but I would like to know how many of you out there own a .50 caliber rifle of some sort.

I have 2 .50 Muzzle loaders.

One single shot .50 BMG
One ten shot .50 BMG.

as a matter of fact, the 10 shot is my avatar.

I own the BMG's for several reasons...I will list just a few.

One and foremost...because I can.

Two...to greatly annoy Democrats and cause them to lose sleep

Three...to scare to foo out of the timid people

Because the people in California and Illinois and soon to be New Yawk...cant.

To clear out the gun range when there are too many people there

To shoot half empty propane bottles with Incendiary bullets because I like fireworks

When my sinuses are stuffed up, it breaks them loose when I shoot

To tell all of my cop buddies that there is nothing that they could hide behind if I wanted them

I like to watch the tracers ark out to the target at 1000 yards

They are great to turn concrete blocks into dust

They make big geysers when shot into the river

Fish cant swim deep enough to get away,if you can see the fish, you can hit it

It helps to dispose of rotten watermelons

It makes people smile when they shoot it

It makes people run and hide when I shoot it

Its fun to shoot

and last but not least...

when Hillary,Obamination,Shumer,Feinstein,Kennedy or some some funny talking politician in California,Illinois,Massachusetts or NY or NJ tells me how they are too powerful for me to use, I'' go out and bust off a few rounds at B27 silhouettes at obscene ranges just to prove to myself that I can.

Then I smile and go to sleep at night knowing that if they knew what I had and what I could do with it, it would cause them fear in their feeble, itty bitty hearts and possibly cause their wretched stay hear on earth to shorten due to stress and anxiety.

I plan on getting a blackpowder one in the somewhat near future. Only because it opens up more of the hunting season.

50BMGs are great in many many ways. Personally though in my situation their expense in both ammunition and the platform itself clearly outwieghs any fun I may have with it. Especially considering I do not have access to any range greater than about 200 yards. A waste for such a large weapon.

I have shot them and they have their place in shooting scenarios,I can't justify the cost of the weapon and ammo plus trying to find a place to shoot that has enough range to fully test the limits of the gun and cartridge are few and far between. To you that have them I say great deal most people I know are like me if you have a unique weapon you will let a gun guy try it just to watch em go man thanks fer the experience.

The guys that have em up at the public range charge 10.00 a pop for anyone that wants to shoot it, it defers some of the cost of the gun over time.:danceban:

At 5.00 a shot cost for ammo, people step up to pay for the experience all day long:congrats:
