HD shotty Test

I took my Mossberg 500 out for the first time and ran some of loads I chose for HD and everything worked perfectly

Test Loads:
Remington 00 buck 3" Magnum
Remington 00 Buck 2 3/4"
Remington Rifled Slug
Federal General Purpose (Not HD)

I shot my 500 from the bench yesterday with Winchester Super X, 1oz Sabot slugs, 2 @ 50yd, 3@100, to check POI for deer hunting. OMG. 5 shots was enough. The recoil seemed to be equivalent to a .300 magnum. I've never had a shotgun kick so hard.

I'm glad one of us (you) had fun.

I like shot for the slug where the top of the 2-liter bottle is flying straight up. Nice explosion!

Shooting slugs and 3 inch mag 00 buck is not my idea of fun. Nice pics though. How bout a pic of the gun?

I had my Canon 40D set up on a tripod in burst mode (6.5 fps) and had my girlfriend hold down the shutter button right before I shot.

And yeah the recoil on those 3" magnums was more than I expected. I have a few small bruises on my shoulder.

I only shot as many of those as I had to. I wanted to make sure they worked reliably in my gun. The rest of the time I was just shooting the target loads.
