Mossberg JIC Series
I was surfing DC forums for a good SD shotgun and got lots of good info. I went to the Mossberg website and found thier JIC Series and think that the set is a great idea. I could take it camping, hiking, or use for good ol' SD.
Has anybody purchesed this product? What do you think?

It's a great buy, I used to have one then I ended up selling it to my buddy because he kept bugging me about it.

ive heard the recoil on the pistol grip shotguns are a killer
But I also want one, im thinking of getting a pistol grip mossberg and putting a knoxx breachers grip on it to help with the recoil

The recoil isn't bad with pistol-grip shotguns. I've got one myself and I can, and have, put rounds through it one-handed. Read-up on the HD Shotgun thread and see what a variety of opinions say. Mine personally is linked below.

As far as the OP? I was looking at getting one of those for awhile. They look like a GREAT truck gun. Put some slugs and 00 Buck in it and you'll be good to go.

impressions of recoil vary a lot. I shot my Mossberg 500 exactly once with the factory pistol grip - I'm not doing that again. The Knoxx stocks are good and they do work, so that might be an option without adding the length of a full stock.
I like the concept of the JIC, and the floating case can be used to store other stuff too. I don't know if they sell them as kits, but if you could find a 590 Mariner in a JIC kit, that would be sweet.
