I've been eyeing an SU16C for a while as a cheap truck gun. If I can find one for cheap at the next fun show, I just might pick it up.

Anyone know of any other inexpensive .223 carbines that accept AR mags? That's the main reason driving me to the Kel-Tec.

Just another thought... Isn't .223 the round that most snipers use?

My chrono testing was consistent with 16" AR's. I used Remington UMC, .223 ammo and my 20" AR15 was pulling speeds of about 3000/fps on average.

The SU16CA was firing around 2820/fps on average. Chrono was set about 3 feet in front of the muzzle.

    I'd say that's .308

Seems right in line with what I've seen reported on 16" AR barrels.
