I am a lefty shooter too, so I prefer the tang safety on the Mossy.
My HD gun is a 1200 Defender and it works and is well built. I don't do tacticool, so finding all kinds of gadgets to mount and hang off it isn't an issue here.
Any of the three will git-r-done I imagine.

I have a Mossberg 500 on my bench right now. My Father had it stored improperly and it took on a rusty sheen so I stripped it down and took the barrel and magazine tube to a plating company about a mile from my house for a new Black Oxide finish. The owner told me he would give it an acid bath to remove the rust, buff any pitting down to fresh metal and give it the Black Oxide coating for $25. With a price like that I couldn't go wrong. Heck, even if it comes out ugly (it couldn't get any worse) at least it will have a new finish and get back into service. I expect to have it back by the middle of next week so I will post pics.

I'm getting closer by the minute, and less than 48 hours to the gun show. It seems like I have my ace in the hand with my local dealer on the 870, and that will wait a week or two rather than the quick buy, eat mac-an-cheese 'til October gun show deal this weekend. I'll still be going to check things out no matter what. Thanks for the link eagle5! Remington's website has a tendency to lock my computer when I get too deep.Originally Posted by eagle5
