Best selling weapon now an AR type rifle

I recently either heard or read that AR type rifles are now the best selling guns but cannot remember where I got the information. Is this true, I can underestand that people are itching to get their hands on them before the election. I know I picked up an extra just in case heavy battle rifle in an AR-10 and love it.

I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II in a Crossbreed SuperTuck. My wife carries a Walther PPS .40 w/Crossbreed holster.

For semi-automatic centerfire weapons, yes, but consider why: it's now surrounded in politics and is the most common centerfire semi-automatic rifle made. Like 1911s, there's so many companies making them compared to other semi-automatic centerfire rifles that their popularity wins out based on sheer numbers of the rifles available in the market.

Combine this with gun ownership rates increasing...

Best selling weapon now an AR type rifle?
I wouldn't be surprised. Certain ban criteria affect this rifle more than any other firearm to my thinking. The barrel lengths, the bayonet lugs, the flash suppressors, the collapsible stocks,.......etc..... I don't think any other firearm is as affected by political change as the AR-15. I went to a local gun show this weekend, and they were the most visible firearm available, uppers, lowers, completes, and factory new 30 round mil-spec magazines selling for $10-$12.

Sure, I believe it. Super common platform, eight zillion aftermarket goodies for it, and you can run one lower with about 10 different calibers. Parts are dirt cheap, and they have pretty good accuracy when you consider it;s a battle rifle.

Heck, you can even get an 8mm or .308 belt fed upper for an AR :-)
