Anyplace that stands against firearms, usually also detests the following: Republicans, heterosexuality, God, free expression, and patriotism. If you're trapped in such a place I'm sure it's not your fault and I shall keep you in my prayers for a swift release from captivity. In any case, no offense!

However, as I did correctly remark...it's not a Springfield Armory
.
I believe these were made on the Springfield Armory (the original), Winchester, Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. and Thompson-Ramo-Wooldridge (TRW).

Dodge a muzzle brake if it all possible - short barrels aren't that much louder.
I expected to be deafened and stunned by my HK-51 clone throwing 308 out of a 8.5" barrel.
I'm less than either - but it's fun to shoot and no louder or blastier than any of my other 308s.

Bought it!
Just purchased a new SA Socom 2. Pick it up on the 7th, go shooting on the 8th! I decided against the California legal FAL rifles because they have a fixed magazine. We're not allowed to have a detachable magazine and a pistol grip on the same gun, you can only have one or the other. F-ing California......
