Robinson Arms XCR
Anyone have any experience with these? They look similar to SIG 556 but come in several calibers. I already have an AR but have started to think about getting an AK too. I can get AK ammo cheaper and with the gas cylinder setup it would seem that it would be cleaner than the normal AR system.
Price wise this seems to run a bit more than I would expect to spend on an AK but it does have a few extra features too. Any thoughts?

You need to visit AR15.com and also check the very long running and IMHO informative thread toward same at SigForum.com

It costs more than an AK because an AK it is not.
The concept is good, but the owner has made questionable business decisions and I would be uncertain about the rifle's future should anything break down (whether or not a warranty can be honored, dropping prior projects with little warning, etc.). People that have 'em seem to like 'em. I know I've heard about parts breakage, but Lord help me if I can remember anything in detail and it may have been more anecdotal than suggestive of a problem with the whole system.
I am certain, though, that you can do better for a fighting rifle for the price an XCR commands.

Thanks Chuck.
I had already that and had read enough there to steer me away from getting one. I'm thinking my best bet right now is just to go with an AK. What kind of AK? Dunno, but Arsenal sure seems to produce some good ones.
Thanks for all your input guys. While the Robinson sounds good in concept I don't think I want to drop that much coin on something that isn't proven yet.
