PUMP for my HD shotgun, ( Rem 870 ) because that's what I'm used to shooting and it will function with any load that fits the chamber. My clays gun is an O/U. My hunting gun is a Moss 500. My cowboy guns are Double barrels & a couple of old Win '97 pump guns.
I have Win 1400 too. So I'm familiar with all styles. PUMP is my favorite. Still have the one my dad gave me as a kid, a Ted Williams, 20 ga. pump. If I could only have one. it would be a PUMP.

Depends on application. For hunting, I prefer my Benelli M1S90. For HD, I keep my Mossberg 500 prepped and ready to go.

I suppose I could, as Joey on Friends would say "put my hands together", and get a Benelli M3...but I don't mind having multiple, dedicated purpose weapons.

870 pump. Ours is in 20 ga, which is easier for my wife to handle. Loading is #6 shot, which should get the job done at inside (small house) distances.

I prefer Auto's myself. I have a few of 'em too. I grew up shooting them and it's what i'm used to and what i shoot well.
However my Turkey gun is a pump action Moss. 835 Ulti-Mag. (which kinda goes against what my avatar says...lol)

I currently own a Mossberg 500. I bought it about twenty years ago and it was all I could afford. I have fired some autos and single shots and doubles, but have yet to find one with some quality that I could show the wife and convince her that is why I need another shotgun.

Of course if it was up to me I would have a couple of each!

H.D. my preference is a pump. Like some before, it's the sound of racking the slide----could only imagine if some one's in my house and they hear the slide racking, one would think that the invader may just soil themselves after hearing that.
