Do you already have a boom stick? If not,get the AR. Everybody needs a SHTF boom stick. Then you can buy ammo for both the .44 and the AR.

You may regret it in the near future(AWB) if you dont spring for the AR now.

get the AR and the 30 round mags. IIRC there was never a ban on reloading equipment in our nation's history.

Buy the lower, so you have it... before any laws are enacted to limit their sales. Put the rest on it later, and in the meantime buy the ammo / supplies.

Get your AR NOW !!! Election is next week, and if Obama and the other democrats win, there will be a run on AR's and prices may CLIMB with folks rushing to beat any new gun laws and bans !!! You can get .44 reloading equipment any time ( as long as budget allows of course) I have several big bore lever guns and bought my AR a few weeks ago, while I still could.

I have a dumb question for you guys. I'm just an old dumb country sort of feller, and what I want to know is this. Does the AR come in different cal.?
If so, what would they be?

My suggestion would be to get the AR-15 - very soon.
