Please recommend a good AR-15 rear iron sight
I lucked into an RRA flattop, but I'm not planning on getting optics for a while. Therefore, I am interested in a good value rear iron sight. I do not want a folding sight, as this will be primary. Once I get optics, I intend to keep this sight in place in order to co-witness.
Thanks in advance,
Herk

I bought the DPMS Detachable Rear Sight for my AR and am very happy with it. The Leapers sight is about the least expensive one that I see Midway selling.

Hmm. I have the folding sight that came on my Bushmaster and I like it a lot. When I flip it up I have co-witness with my Aimpoint. It is nice being able to fold the ironsight down.

RRA makes a nice fixed rear sight with a built in riser platform for your future optic. This will give a lower 1/3 cowitness when you mount an Eotech or Aimpoint on it.

+1 for Larue, everything they make is bomb-proof and will outlive at least half the components of your rifle.

Larue and Troy Industries are top shelf! Check out these new HK style. If you have any experience with HK sights you can't help but remember how easy and fast they are to hit with. Now they are available for the AR platform.

Seen 'em but never used 'em. How well do those HK style sights co-witness with red dot sights, if you know?

I believe that they are a 2/3 variety but I'm not sure. I've not shot them with a red dot.

Check these out. They are supposed to be good to go with a red dot.
