Query on AWB 1994-2004
If there's a future AWB, no one can know the details yet, of course.
During the ban that ended in 2004, many rifles were prohibited from being sold.
Were part sales for them also proscribed? For example, stipulate that rifle X was banned. Could one buy a scope mount or ammo that would fit rifle X during the AWB years?
Parts and ammo and even the guns themselves remained legal. They could not import or manufacture more that fit in the AWB definition. If you did buy parts, such as a flash suppressor, you could not install it on a gun that did not already have it installed before the AWB went into effect.
Someone will correct me if I have my facts mixed up.
+1 to what CopperKnight said. Thats always how I understood the rule. I'd like to find out more though.
