Congrats on the AR...
Be extremely careful when you handle the 'shroud'.

Thanks guys, I have to say I am sooo excited with this purchase! A friend of mine stopped by last night who is currently in the reserves, and he gave me a very nice and throrough run down of cleaning tips etc. I was astonished at how simple it was! That will especially be helpful for the first few rounds where the mfg. calls for very frequent cleanings for the best accuracy.

Bushmaster? The hard case looks just like mine .. kinda cheesy but it works. Congrats on the AR. Now go shoot it.

DPMS actually. I did a little bit of research on the things to look for in an AR when buying, and it looked like the DPMS was satisfactory in each category. It's not something I bought primarily for self-defense in the home, but more so for target shooting, varmint hunting etc.
Unfortunately with my crazy schedule lately I still have not been able to go to the range with it and sight it in etc.
Hopefully next week I will be able to get it done!

Well last night I finally had the opportunity to begin the break in period for the rifle according to the owner's manual. I have to say shooting the AR is an absolute dream! I wasn't too worried about sighting it in last night, but the next time I am at the range I will get her zeroed in.

i am beginning my hunt for one. I am thinking either Busmaster, Stag or DPMS.
Was it hard to find one? I have been calling around and no one has them it seems.

I am afraid you probably missed your opportunity. DPMS even states on their website when you first open it they are extremely backordered and cannot make any estimates on timeframe etc. There is a DPMS at my local gun range for sale, but naturally he's asking top dollar for it now. Keep looking, you might get lucky and find one that someone missed.
