I've been talking about it for a while, but the circumstances allowed so i picked up a DSA AR-15 yesterday. I've ordered a new forward grip with rails, the appropriate tools for take down and such, and a mount for a scope. All I need to do now is find a relatively reasonable red dot or holographic sight!

Exactly! No need for a scope mount. You can just take the carry handle off and mount the optic right to the flat top rail. I would go with the aimpoint before the Eo Tech but that is just preference.Originally Posted by retsupt99

Also you might want to check out the Bushnell trophy red dot which would be much less money and is a pretty darn good optic. It looks similar to an ACOG but has zero magnification. Good for a budget purchase. Either way congrats on the new toy!

Aimpoints (especially Comp ML2's and ML3's) are pretty reasonable, often running less than a new EOTech.

Defensive Carry Search Tips
Step 1 - Choose a subforum on right side under "Search in Forum(s)"
Step 2 - Type general topic of interest in "Search by Keyword" textbox.
Step 3 - Read results and refine/repeat as necessary.
