M1 Carbine sight help

    M1 Carbine sight help

    Well, this is embarrassing. Can someone provide a link on how to sight (site?) my m1 carbine? Here are some not so good pics. tx!

    It looks like you have a Plainfeild M1 carbine.

    The Knob on the rear sight should be your windage, ajusts your shots left to right. It has some hash marks below it. The long one in the center is the therorictal zero. Sent the sight there.

    The rear peep sight is on a slope that slides up and down. All the way up is 100 yds all the way down is 300 yds. There should be numbers with hash marks. I believe that each hash mark is 50 yds.

    The front sight has an allen screw that allow you to remove it, I would strongly suggest leaveing it alone for now. It is possible for the front sight to become canted but yours didn't look to be canted from your pictures.

    Start at 100yds with the peep centered and set at 100 yds on a windless day. Fire 3 rounds from a rest, adjust windage accordingly wait for the barrel to cool and fire 3 more.
