    My new "unexpected" guns

I cant believe this happened. There are no AR's in town and only an occasional mini 14 (something I have always wanted). I walk into Cabelas the other day and a new shipment of mini 14's came in. I wait a day or two and when I go back they are down to 3 mini's. I wait for a guy to put the wood stock version back, when he lets go I grab and buy. I am stoked! I go back a couple of days later to check out the Butler Creek stock for the mini when I spot a Bushmaster M4A3 sitting on the rack. I ask about it, salesman says they just got 2 in, the first one almost made it to the rack, but not quite, I touch the second one, with my head spinning I guess I mumbled something like "lets do the paperwork" and just like that, in 3 days I purchase my first mini 14 AND AR-15. Of course I went with the no interest, no payment, no brain for one full year plan. I will start inventing a plan to pay for them in about 10 months!!

PS- My wife is VERY dissapointed in me

Your wife should be pleased with you rather than being disappointed.
    We're entering into changing times.
If they are troubled times you'll be better prepared to meet and greet them.
If not troubled times and just changed times then (at best) you have a good investment that will likely increase in value...at the worst you'll break even if you keep them in A-1 condition.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Congratulations on your new babies. Now feeding them is going to cost you a fortune, but it will be worth it.

The BlackHills anti gun coalition as rules against buying 2 guns that close together at the same store. You will need to get the Bushmaster to me for very safe keeping ASAP. I normally would not do this for just anyone, but for you I will make an exception.

Was out to the Hills in August, and the Cabela's was not open yet. Looks like a nice store. So now Rapid City has a Cabela's and a Sheels, it just ain't fair.

    Enjoy your two new friends.

    Hello firestarplus,

    Congrats Man. Good reflexes.

As for the Wife...you might try giving her the choice of which

one sleeps under her side of the bed. I'll bet she'll really like one

of them if ya take'er out to the range with you. My wife has the pick of

quite a few, but LOVES her vintage 181-xxxxx Mini-14.

Don't sweat it...times are achangin' and both will come in handy

anyway it plays out. Good Luck.

    Safety First....Keep your groups tight,

Congrats on the new long guns. The wife will get over it, but you may have to indulge in some expensive jewelry purchases to make amends.

The AR could end up being an important 'crowd control tool' during future times.

Stay armed...always use the right tools...stay safe!

Does this mean that the gun makers are beginning to get caught up? I hope so..

    My current projects:
    1. Build AR-15 from kit
    2. Install and evaluate A1Optics 50mm Red Dot sight (on shotgun and later on AR)
    3. Ebay sales to pay for projects now at $156
    Yoda, I am, yes.

    Thats a good story.

It's better to have an AR and a Mini-14 and not need it than it is to need it and not have it.

While its true that there have always been not -so- good times thoughout history, some people suffer more than others, simply because they beleived it wouldn't happen to them. Those with the foresight made it through easier.

    Congrats on the purchase !
