    help please- AK problem

So i was fiddling (bad call) around with my field stripped AK today when and when I put it back together, when the trigger was pulled, it would not reset. I stripped it again and think I found the part that is keeping the trigger from resetting. The safety lever seems to be blocking part of the inner trigger mechanism. Sorry I dont have any pictures but I think I can put some up tommrow. Any ideas?

Not sure I follow you completely. The trigger won't reset unless you fire the rifle or pull the bolt/carrier back. Are you sure you got the bolt back in the carrier correctly? Does the safety lever rotate freely to the safe and fire positions? You may need to push the hammer back down until it locks again and then reassemble.

I think it might be a problem the way you re-assembled the Hammer Pin Retaining Spring AKA Shepherd's crook. It might be blocking the safety and the safety blocking the rest.

You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

I would hope that wouldn't be included in "field stripping".

sorry im just having trouble explaining this with no pictures
the trigger is permanently in the pulled position and will not return forward.
I put the bolt back in correctly for sure, its a problem with the safety lever/trigger mechanism (I believe)
The safety lever will go to the fire position but wont go all the way back up to safe because its being blocked from the inside.
Maybe I should stop trying to explain until I can get a picture

So can you remove the safety lever again? Maybe while holding the trigger back?

The AK FCG (once you get the hang of it) is quite easy to assemble and disassemble. Actually one of the first things an AK owner should do is to polish the FCG parts that rub against each other. It makes for a much smoother trigger pull. And no, you don't need to do it every time you clean your AK (every 5,000 rounds or so ) but it is fun.

Okay.......I figure I'm with it now. You pulled the trigger after complete reassembly? Then tried to put it on safe? If you put the safety on after the hammer went forward, you will not be able to reset the trigger/hammer by pulling the bolt back until the safety is in the fire position once again. If the safety selector is up while the hammer is forward, this will block the hammer from returning or resetting from behind the forward hammer. You'll need to reset the hammer manually by pushing it down with the safety lever removed. Since your hammer is forward, this also explains you not being able to move the safety lever all the way to the safe position.

problem is the AR15 site says

    3. Remove the safety. Just turn it so that it points up, and remove

I cant get my safety up (look at new picture)
and is the hammer spring what I marked with a blue X?
