Ever use Silver Bear in AR?

I have a S&W AR and given the current state of ammuntion availibility I am considering looking for some steel cased ammo. I have only shot brass through this gun as I have been told not to run steel through it. Then I have heard from others that it will just wear out the extractor more than brass. The reason I am thinking silver bear is that it does not have a laquer coating on it like brown bear and I have shot it through my AK and was pleased with it in that weapon.

Basically I am asking if anyone has ran silver bear through an AR and what were the results?

I have a S&W in a 5.45. Using bulk Russian ammo (Wolf). No issues with it, but really haven't had the funds to do a great deal of shooting.

I also have an OLY in a 5.56 and the wolf ran through it with no problems at all.

It will probably function OK but it wont show problems right away, the wear and tear are gradual. If you shoot the steel cases, go ahead and buy yourself a couple of new extractors and a really good cleaning kit. ( You should have some on hand anyway, Steel case seems to be much dirtier in general)

Yes, I did with my M&P 15. Only a few boxes. Fed good, grouped good.

I noticed when I shot brass I saw bits of brass in my gun, no problem. When shooting steel I didn't see that.....that led me to the fact that the steel was harder on my components. I'd rather use brass and have little shavings of it in my gun....than little shavings of my gun in my gun.

All this was before I found out that steel casings were harder on components in which confirmed my hunch....SO, I stored all my steel cased ammo ( freezer grade ziplock in .50cal ammo cans ) for when the North Koreans invade or Zombies attack, and just shoot brass for the fun stuff.

I don't shoot me rifles to much so it's not a big loss. Have extra parts for my AR and M1A incase they become hard to come by.

2000 rounds of wolf in my Colt AR, just be ready to clean, clean,
    clean. then clean some more.
