I'm looking at shotguns for a class I'll be taking in a few months. Right now I'm considering an 870 Express Tactical and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with one. How do they compare with the 870 Police or 870 Tactical models?

Pretty much the same gun. Just the police models are quality controlled a good bit better, hand picked maybe, and have better polished surfaces in some areas of the gun parts.
For home use an 870 Express is perfect. Its what I have and I love it.

So many 870's! I picked this one up way back when a guy suffered some health probs and wanted to move it on .....
Since the pic the extended mag piece has a clip supporting it to barrel. The 870 in all its incarnations has to be (is in fact) the best selling 12G ever I believe.

I have a 870 TAC with camo, this link has an article on it: Shooting Illustrated's Guns and Hunting.com
Since it was $200 less than the FN Police tactical shotgun I was originally opting for, I changed my mind and they both felt good to me so I figured the $200 could go towards a red dot sight in the future... I also read a few reports that the 870 is more reliable because it's more tolerant to less than perfect strokes.
Hope to shoot it for the first time at the range if it's a good enough day, rain might mess things up.
