How about one of these? It's a victim of the Clinton AWB, the J&R Engineering M68 in 9mm. This one is in very good condition for $1250. It has the dual flash hider- one prong style and the other cone style like the M1 carbine.
I was watching one of the gun shows on Outdoor Channel or something last week.
They shot drywall with a 9mm, a .45 and a 12 ga, both with OO Buck and bird shot.
The 9, .45 and Buck all penetrated through 3 sets of drywall (equivalent to 3 walls). A SD shooting in your home or apartment would have gone through your BR wall, through the hallway wall, and into and through another room/BR.
Only the bird shot did not penetrate the first wall.
So, I am re-thinking my SD options with my shotty.
Accuracy shouldn't really be an issue in home defense, your best chance of success is some buckshot. point and shoot. Plus nothing sounds better than a pump action chambering a shell.

not so point and shoot specially in close range where most home defense happens
accuracy is always an issue
unless you use poison darts you aren't gonna stop a bad guy with anything that won't penetrate multiple walls
RRA has ar in 40 cal.,who knows the backlog now may be 6 months!
I sure like the looks of that Storm... How many scheckles would that run me??!!!
