    What sling do you use?

Going to be buying a sling for my AR soon. Don't want a single point. It'll be either a 2 or 3 point. Not sure which yet? Any suggestions, comments? This will get used...a lot. Not "chasing the Taliban" a lot, but you get my drift here.

.....also would like a similar setup for say a shotgun or lever gun?

I have a pair of 1 to 2 point convertibles from rockymountain tactical.

    It's the summit convertible: https://www.rockymountaintactical.ne...sling_2config&

    They work fantastic.

Stay away from Viking Tactics. We ordered 9 while I was overseas and about half of them the little metal piece that would cinch down failed and the rifle opened up fully and became a neusance.

I've never heard that problem before about VTAC slings.

For myself, I'm torn between a Magpul MS2 and a Blue Force Gear VCAS, both with a Magpul ASAP (ambidextrous sling attachment point). My money is other places right now, though, so I've been given time to make the decision.

I run a VTAC "padded" and it's working well for me.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I've heard good things about the Gear Sector GS-2P, but haven't tried one.

    Problems with VTAC slings

This is the first reported case of those locking mechanisms failing on a VTAC sling. Please contact us through one of the following methods so we can get to the bottom of the problems you encountered and determine how to best correct them:

    EMAIL: Service@VikingTactics.com
    OFFICE: 910.987.5983
    FAX: 910.425.0700

We'd like to know the type/model of sling, the date they were ordered, the dealer they were ordered from, and the specifics regarding the failure of the locking mechanism - plus any other details you consider important regarding the sling and its performance.

    Thanks,

I actively use my rifle(s) in Tactical Rifle matches which involve all types of movements, and have also taken a couple of carbine classes. I would highly recommend the Boonie Packer two point. Evidently Larry Vickers used this design as a basis for his Blue Force slings. I think I only paid something like $14 each for them.

Don't have a long gun, have never used a sling. But in my reading I've learned that John Farnham likes the Vickers sling from Blue Force, and Jeff Cooper liked the "Ching Sling" available in nylon from Wilderness Tactical and in leather from elsewhere.

I have a Magpul MS2 sling coupled with an ASAP plate and they really well.

I took a class with it last weekend and my only complaint is that the webbing they use could be a little wider and more rigid. It is a minor complaint though.

ruertar, where did you get your MS2 from? Did you pre-order or are folks starting to stock them now?
