I know, I know. Ghetto as HELL, but it works and I had the strap steel lying around. Maybe I'll paint it to match the gun, but I am of a function over form guy!

    That works

If it dosn't interfere with functioning of the gun, then it's perfect

    Function AND free very good!

    You're Cuban alright.

Looks like something straight out of Havana. Do you have an old Chevy with wooden motor mounts and a Russian 4 cylinder engine in the driveway?

I'm kidding, I think your idea fills a need. It puts that wayward flashlight to work and keeps the $$ in your pocket where it belongs.

    Recoil

Have you fired it? Wondering if it will hold up to a tube full of 12ga defense ammo.

    Good idea and good job!
The only thing I might do differently would be to cut a couple strips of something to prevent any scratches or movement.
Something like cork gasket material or the rubberized shelf liner material would help keep everything in place and prevent any scratches on the barrel or the flashlight.

Hmmmmm I have a bunch of that plumbers strap in my shop. Maybe I should sell these low cost flashlight mounts LOL

With the right tension on the bolt through the strap it would be quite sturdy for sure.

Should work out fine if the strapping is heavy enough.
It really needs that coat of black spray paint serious bad though.

Even better, cut some rubber strips out of an old inner-tube.

Thats an awesome idea Cuban, and it beats the heck out of JB Weld.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

    Can you say, Rube Goldberg?(sp?)

Those coast lights are pretty decent. I have one that's about 2 years old and I don't think I've had to change the batteries in it yet. At least if I did, I don't remember. I use it alot too. It's not mounted to a gun though.

Does yours have the red light for night use?

I have the light you are referring to, the one with red and white light, but this one is much brighter.

To keep the shotgun from getting scratched, i wrapped a couple of layers of electrical tape. This also aids in the securing of the band. I may just hit it with some spray paint.

I just learned something about myself...I'm shallow I simply couldn't live with that!

Whatever floats the boat as they say. I actually wish I was more like you and less like me in this case... :)
