    Mossberg 500 barrel - 24 " cylinder/rifle sight

    Have a Mossberg 500 - thinking to replace standard 28" barrel. Was
    looking at Mossberg catalog - saw 24" cylinder bore with rifle sights

    Thinking this best of both worlds, can use it with buckshot for defense
    and slugs for deer hunting.

    i like a 18 inch barrel on a shotgun for home defense. easy to move around.

    As above. 20" is pretty much the upper limit for a defensive shotgun. 24" is hard to move and move with, and provides lots of gripping surface and leverage for the other guy.

    I have a 590 moss with a 20" barrel and agree that it's at its limits for home defence , anything bigger will just be cumbersome
