    escort shotgun

i was at academy sport store earlier today and asked to see any semi auto escort shotguns they had.the clerk said they had one and handed me a semi auto 20guage youth model w/a/22 inch barrel.it felt good in my hands and was well built.he said it was 300.00.
that seemed like a really good deal to me.i asked how much a semi auto 12 gauge would be,a home defense model, but he could not say because academy does not order guns for people they just sell what comes in.
im going to check around at some of the other academy's in Austin later.ive read a lot about the hatsan brand of shotguns from Turkey and i like what ive read, especially for the price.
they are not cheaply made that's for sure.
i want a semi auto for home defense because ive heard of people getting nervous and racking the slide without ever pulling the trigger until no more ammo.
i will also get a longer barrel for bird hunting.i have never had a semi auto shotty before.

    I have two Hatsan Shotguns.

One is for hunting and the other is an Escort Model. For the money they are hard to beat and I think this is one of the rare cases where you get more than you pay for.

I use my Hatsan Shotguns as "loaners" and "truck guns" as I have slightly better weapons for personal use, but that wasn't always the case. Both of mine are Pump Action, so I can't tell you anything about their Autoloaders, but if the quality for the dollar amount spent is anything with the Autoloaders like the Pump Actions you will do well.

    thanks BikerRn,
i have heard from several people that they are very similar to the HK shotguns.and that accessories for the HKs will fit them.
anyway all i have read about them from people that actually own them has been good and i have seen some deals on them too good to pass up.
ill let everyone know how i like the semi auto after i try it out, hopefully not too long from now....

How do you pump a shotgun without pulling the trigger or hitting the release? Sounds like an urban myth to me!

    Hatsan Escort pump

The first 12 gauge i bought was a Escort pump for $140, that was 7 years ago. I have never had one problem with it. Quality shotgun, Ive fired around 7000 rounds through it. I have a side saddle, heat sheild, fore grip, ghost sights. I mean hell, ive put more money into parts for it then i paid for it. I also have a 870 Tac, I honesty think the Escort is just as good if not better quality. The only thing i dont like is, you cant get **** for the Escort. You have to improvise. I own 23 weapons, and ill be honest. The Escort is imtimidating as ****. Not as bad as a man coming out of the woods of Grays Creek, NC fully dressed in battle gear and body armor with a fully tactical AR15, Pistol grip 12 gauge and a Glock19 Handgun. And of course a **** load of mags. Im ready fort he revolution thats coming soon. But, the Escort is a good quality shotgun, cheap enough for most people to afford. But if you have the money, get an 870. You can buy everything you could want at damn Walmart.

A couple of family members just got some Yildiz autoloader 20 gauges from Academy. They look super nice - walnut stock and fore end, nice blued steel. Looks to be on par with their OU's. The semi is cheaper at about $370.

I couldn't be happier with my OU that I got a few years back. I'm hoping for the same experience with these autoloaders. I got some heavy target loads to test because I don't know about light loads cycling the action properly. I'm expecting them to run pretty well for the money. They are warrantied through Briley.
