How is this thing a Pistol?

The top one... the bounty hunter...

Puma Bounty Hunter & M-87 Shotguns

It is horridly expensive though... but... I sure would like to try one with some low recoil buck in it.

    By federal law:

Pistol or revolver means a handgun styled to be fired by the use of a single hand and to fire or otherwise expel a projectile by the action of an explosion, spring, or other mechanical action, or air or gas pressure with enough force to be used as a weapon.

I guess it's designed to shoot one handed.

Oh but that is so close to call on that short butt stock that it scares me. Would like to see a letter from ATF on that one.

The two things that make it a handgun are the “but stock” and the barrel. The but stock is too short for it to be fired from the shoulder. The barrel is under 16”. These two, combined, make it a handgun.

    Becuase it's a handgun, not a rifle!
I suppose you could shoulder fire it but it would be as akward as taking a leak with your giggle-stick glued to your belly.

In Michigan if it is under 30 inches it must be registered as a pistol. I have a AK Bullpup I had to have safety inspected as a pistol.

If the ATF says its a handgun, then that is what it is.

    Cool

Oh great. And I said I was done buying guns. But I've wanted one of those since I was about 12 years old. Heck, I've even got the 'Wanted Dead or Alive' DVD set.

It's going to be hard finding a holster for this one.

    Not really:
The McQueen Bounty Hunter Mare\'s Leg Gun Belt And Holster Set - www.oldtradingpost.com California

And this "replica" is much cheaper, but probably lesser quality:
    Mares Leg Holster

Unless you meant a tuckable IWB rig, in that case, yes it will be quite hard to find. ;)

Geez, TMI. I have glued my fingers together getting sloppy with SuperGlue but I don't think I could accomplish the above.
