    300 RUM Scope suggestions

I have the chance to pick up a Remington 700 in 300 ultramag and it is such a good deal that I cannot pass it up, even though it is way bigger than I need. It does not come with a scope, I am trying to find a cheap scope that I can use on it this year until I can pick up a nicer one. This is my first hunting rifle so I know very little, what power and brand would ya'll suggest? Thanks

A 3x9 is all the scope you will ever need. I would suggest a Nikon prostaff 3x9. You can get one for $135 bucks here...

Tactical Gun Armory - Guns, Holsters, Mags, Optics and Much More.

These scopes are so nice you will never have to replace it !!!!! Free shipping too.

I put a Bushnell 4200 Elite 3X9 40mm objective lens on my 7mm WSM last fall for an Antelope hunt and I cannot imagine a better scope for the money. I think I paid less than $300.00 at Bass Pro.

I shot my antelope at a little less than 300yds with the scope set on 6X. One shot = Antelope DRT. I cannot think of a hunting situation when you would need more than 6-8 power.

Save your green til you can put a Burris or Luipold on it. The 300 mag is a kicker, and a cheep scope will not stand up very long. You don't need to spend $1,000.00 but $400-500 will put some nice glass on it.
