Are these M4s any good?
Theres one at my local gun shop for $1400 and is this a good price?
A customer who was there said that these were better than colts is this true?
Any good/bad things to know about these guns or the company?
Thanks in advance

Rock River Arms is a good arms builder,. But I think Colt is not all that people say they are,. True the Military uses them, but so what,. Normally the military just gets what comes in the cheapest and has a "meets qualifications".. That don't make it the best,.. IMO..
They're fine, but see below.
It depends on what model. If it was an entry tactical, one of the more common M4 styles you'll see from RRA, then it's MSRP is a little over $1000 on average.Theres one at my local gun shop for $1400 and is this a good price?
Can you get me the customers phone number and contact information? I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I desperately need to sell.A customer who was there said that these were better than colts is this true?
They're fine, and so is the company. They don't test their parts per .mil guidelines, but they do make good guns. I own a mid-length that I have nothing but good things to say about.Any good/bad things to know about these guns or the company?

Except, you know, most companies choose not to even meet easily-attained specs.
Laxer, methinks you're being had with a $1400 Rock River. For that price, consider picking up a Noveske upper and an LMT lower, or a Daniel Defense M4, or a Colt, or an LMT, or a Bravo Company upper on an LMT lower, or...

For that money you could have a Colt 6920 shipped to the FFL of your choosing. Way over-priced.

as others have said, that price depends on what model/options it has, etc
Rock Rivers are good rifles and are one of a few brands I would get.
On a side note, the RR rifles our dept has got in over the past few months have had some issues, seems some QC has laxed a bit, we order all Colts now.

If it's $1400 for the Entry Tactical, or whatever name they are using to designate their "starter" AR, that's way overpriced.
I was in my local shop the other day and he was asking $950, IIRC, for the Entry Tactical, or whatever the name is. I'm considering a Rock River at that price as a second AR.
As far as DEA choosing the RR, I wouldn't get too excited about that. Those decisions are made by "bean counters" and not the troops in the field. My agency uses Colt, and as far as I know, only Colt.

I LOVE my Colt 6721 which is very similar to the 6920 mentioned above...It is a very nice m4...go with it for the same money (6920) and get a Mil-Spec gun.

Check out gunbroker.com and others. .... there are some Rock River M4's on there as "buy it now" for $975. Some bidding between $700 - $1100. Shipping about $20 and FFL $30. I know a dealer here who just offerred to sell me an 'entry' Rock River at $1250 and thought he was too high on it. .... but, that's me.
I just bought one at $1050 (with shipping, FFl, etc) , that's a new Rock River A4 version, A2 front sight, 16" moly chrome, collapsable stock, threaded muzzle, sling lugs, etc.... but I will change / add a few more things to it (don't we all ??? ) .
Personally, I love Rock River AR-15's. They are a good quality (if that's a question). I have shot Bushmasters, Rock River, Colt (I hate the balance of them), a DPMS (lower quality), Armalite, etc. Every time, I like the Rock River better, shoot better and more accurately with it, and like the action / fit on it much better.
My .02 cents.
Price will depend upon how fast you want it, how available it is where you are at, and if you are willing or not to look at other resources out there.

I'm not a fan of purchasing a "complete" rifle from any manufacturer.
One caveat may be the LMT and Noveske stuff, but other than that I'm going to mate a decent lower with an even better upper. For instance I recently purchased a RRA complete lower with the single stage trigger and retractable stock. I mated an Noveske N4 upper 10.5" on top of it and then opted for my own personal modifications as I saw fit.
SOPMOD stock on the original extension.
Daniel Defense "Omega" free float rail.
Troy rear BUIS.
KAC rail covers.
Magpul MIAD grip with enhanced trigger guard.
Daniel Defense front sling mount on the rail.
Daniel Defense rear sling mount over the castle nut.
Aimpoint CompM3 on a LaRue Tactical Cantilever mount.
Vickers VTAS two point adustable sling.
Surefire G2 LED with a Daniel Defense Offset mount
Tango Down throw lever vertical foregrip.
I'd rather have the Noveske barrel (M249 grade/249 grade chrome lining) than a commercial chrome moly barrel. That's just me.
I'd look for a Mil Spec 4150 1/7 twist also. I don't care for 1/9 twist with heavier ammo.
Just my .02
