.22 Target Rifles
Hi guys,
Im looking at getting into some local shooting competitions and I dont know much about the .22s that they use.
Do you guys have any recommendations for some good competition rifles?
Also, is there a message board dedicated to competition rifles?
Thanks!

Are we talking Olympic \ National class competition, Regional or just Club Shooting ?.
For Club \ Regional shooting the Remington 597TVP or Ruger 22/10 USST would be my first starting points for a target .22
The 597TVP is cheaper and reviews point it as being a tad more accurate than the 10/22
The 10/22 USST edition is a nice looker though, so if you dont win you still get everyone drooling over your pretty looking rifle :)
Then of course you have a miriad of scope options.

Kinda vague. Is this a bolt action only, or any rifle type?
I know not what this "overkill" means.
Honing the knives, Cleaning the longguns, Stocking up ammo.

Well for now its just regional/club shooting - any rifle type.
I want something that I can learn to compete with then upgrade if I get serious..
Thanks for the info so far!

In that case 10/22, they upgrade nice, and start out nice. Personally though I would use a bolt action rifle, if its a pure accuracy competition.
I know not what this "overkill" means.
