Thanks SIXTO. Always nice to have things explained clearly for those of us that need advice.

Don't forget FIT! If the "length of pull" is too long, good technique will not save you, and recoil-reducing gadgets will not perform at maximum efficiency. Try a "ladies/youth" stock or a so-called "LE" length stock. Two names for the same thing, a stock with about a 12" to 12.5" length of pull.
I am not saying technique is of lesser importance, of course. And, there is more than one way to do it right. The pec-delt crease is not best for everyone. Some put it against the pec, below the collarbone, tuck the elbows down, and take a more squared stance. This DOES work best with a shorter stock!
I have long arms, and can use either technique.
It is important to have the stock firmly against the shoulder, and the cheek firmly against the stock. Neither may seem to be exactly a comforting idea, but better to be shoved by something already against you, than give it a running start with which to SMACK you.
As already mentioned, reduced recoil ammo helps immensely.
If anyone reading this is being abused by an older Benelli M1 Super 90, those stocks were designed by a masochist. They hurt.
