I took my grandson to the range this morning to shoot his new Ruger 10-22. I gave it to him last week for his 12th birthday.
The gun shot great. It was easy for him to shoot and he handled it like a pro. We had a great time.

It is great sharing time at the range with our Grandchildren. Keep him on the right path.

Very cool!
I was just given one today as a graduation gift. :)
Slightly used, "beat up" according to the gifter; then again he's a collector. Really enjoyed it out on the range today.
So nice to hear ya'll had a great time. I wish I could have started shooting when I was that young. Can't complain though, I've really enjoyed the time spent with my dad and grandpa out on the range over the last few years. Enjoy with your grandson!
Awesome! Can't beat that fun or the 10/22. Make sure you instill those safety skills....they follow them through life.
Thanks for the comments. Ram Rod, I make sure we discuss safety skills everytime we take a weapon out. Brady M77 thanks for the tactical tip.
Here's a picture of him at the range.![]()

Number one 'upgrade' for a 10/22: new sights.
The v+dot sights they come with are horrible. A good set of receiver mounted peep sights will improve the rifle's capability dramatically. I really like the Williams FP line, but they're a bit costly, and not real easy to install. A less expensive solution is available from tech-sights.
You'll be amazed how much difference a longer sight radius and better designed rear sight makes.
Enjoy!
Liberty is an inherently offensive lifestyle. Living in a free society guarantees that each one of us will see our most cherished principles and beliefs questioned and in some cases mocked. It's worth it.
Nice Rifle!! He'll enjoy it!!![]()
