A local gun dealer here has a Norinco AK (Mak 90) which I believe is Chinese made for $550. It seems to be in good condition and its used. It comes with a Tapco side folding stock and black synthetic forearm. Does this seem like a fair price or should I pass?
Probably about right for a Mak 90 these days. They are decent to good AK's. I am assuming this one is not milled, in which event the price is low.
That’s a good price if it’s in good condition. MAK-90s are better AKs than most of the models you can buy new (or newly built).
My main concern would be that Tapco stock, and if it’s 922r compliant.

Sounds like a good deal. What caliber is it? They came in 7.62x39 and .223. Used to see them a lot at gun shows. There are only three listed on gunsamerica right now:
